Where is the Taiga?
The taiga is the world's largest terrestrial biome. It covers most of mainland Canada and large parts of Alaska, northern parts of the continental U.S. (called the Northwoods), most of Sweden, Finland, Norway, Russia, northern Kazakhstan, northern Mongolia, and northern Japan. Look at all that area! Plant and wildlife varies greatly by region, of course; for example, North American taigas have mainly spruces, where as the Siberian taiga has many larches.
